A friend will tell you the truth, because they care, sometimes it hurts to hear, but I'm sure it hurts this friend as well, but that's what real friends do, they are honest with one another.
A friend will hold something from you sometimes for good reason, and if that person is a friend, he or she will understand and respect the reasons for doing it.
A friend will be there to help you when you need it not only in bad times but in good times as well, and not expect expect anything in return.
A friend won't try to impose anything upon you that you are not ready for, but will be patient and not abandon you because of it.
A friend will share his or her knowledge at any time. The best gift you can give a friend is your time. A good friend will offer you encouragement and help when you need it.
A friend shouldn't be taken for granted, or used for your benefit. Friendship is a two way street.
A friend will treat you with love, honesty, respect and kindness at all times.
A true friend will forgive another friend at all times. How many times has God forgiven us for our sins? It is our duty to forgive them for theirs.
A friend should always apologize if he or she hurts another friend.
A friend is someone that you trust enough that you can go to him or her with a personal problem and be sure that this friend will be there for you and not share it with others.
A friend is a gift you give yourself.

Happy Monday to everyone. Hope your week is a good one filled with happiness. I hope mine will be too. We only pass this way once ,(I think), so we must all try to make the best of it, despite the failures, roadblocks, adversities and difficulties we all face from time to time during our short time here on planet Earth. I have had my fair share and I am sure you have too. The good news is that we can easily turn all of our'negative' thoughts into 'positive ones'. It's a choice we all have the ability and power to make. Happiness is a choice, misery is optional. Below are a few quotes on happiness to start us all off !
HAPPINESS IS A HABIT - CULTIVATE IT. (Elbert Hubbard)
HAPPINESS IS NOT A STATE TO ARRIVE AT, BUT A MANNER OF TRAVELLING. (Margaret Lee Runbeck)
THE HAPPIEST MAN IS HE WHO LEARNS FROM NATURE THE LESSON OF WORSHIP. (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
WHOEVER IS HAPPY WILL MAKE OTHERS HAPPY TOO. (Anne Frank)
COMPARE WHAT YOU WANT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, AND YOU'LL BE UNHAPPY; COMPARE WHAT YOU DESERVE WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, AND YOU'LL BE HAPPY. (Evan Esar)
THE BEST WAY TO SECURE FUTURE HAPPINESS IS TO BE HAPPY AS IS RIGHTFULLY POSSIBLE TODAY. (Charles W. Eliot)
IT IS NOT EASY TO FIND HAPPINESS IN OURSELVES, AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IT ELSEWHERE. (Agnes Repplier)
TRUE HAPPINESS IS A STATE OF WHICH ONLY YOU CAN CONTROL. YOUR HAPPINESS CANNOT BE CONTROLLED BY OUTSIDE FORCES. NOTHING CAN GIVE OR TAKE AWAY YOUR HAPPINESS. (Dennis Leonard)
YOU CAN'T FIGHT FOR HAPPINESS; YOU CAN'T WIN HAPPINESS; YOU CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS. HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE. IT IS AN ATTITUDE THAT ONLY YOU CAN CONTROL. (Dennis Leonard)
Take care, enjoy your day and week ahead, and make the choice to be happy!

Deal with the faults of others as gently as you deal with your own. (Chinese Proverb)
When you have faults, do not fear to abandon them. (Confucius)
Fear makes the wolf bigger than he is. (German Proverb)
We learn so little and forget so much. (Sir John Davies)
Do not let a little dispute injure a great friendship. (Dalai Lama)
The future is no more uncertain than the present. (Walt Whitman)
Honesty is something you can't wear out. (Waylon Jennings)
We lie loudest when we lie to ourselves. (Eric Hoffer)
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain. (Dolly Parton)

JUST A NOTE WISH EVERYONE A GREAT SUNDAY. HOPEFULLY WILL COME UP WITH SOME NEW BLOGS SOON BUT UNTIL THEN THOUGHT I WOULD LIKE TO RE-POST THIS ONE DONE A FEW MONTHS AGO. IT IS A GREAT REMINDER FOR ME AND I HOPE FOR YOU AS WELL.
If you get your thinking right and keep a good attitude, happiness will come into your life and stay in your life. When you think positively you have a positive attitude, and as a result your whole life will have a positive charge. Even when you find yourself in the midst of a storm, you will be looking for the silver lining, the light at the end of the tunnel.
Thoughts form attitudes and attitudes determine destiny. This is a principle you must know and understand in order to secure happiness in your life. If you don't learn this, you will stay in the wilderness going in circles all your life, never making any real progress. You'll complain and complain --- and wonder why things don't get any better.
The bottom line is that if you want to be happy --- to walk in prosperity and health, see your children become grow strong and successful, and all of your family reaching their full potential --- you must choose to have a great attitude no matter what the circumstances. Complaining has to go. Have you ever met somebody who complained about everything? Did it look like they lived a happy life? Probably not, because complainers are never happy! If that is you - if you know you are a complainer - you're going to have to make some changes in your thinking right now.
When something unpleasant happens to you, how do you react? Do you stop and look to God for the answer, or do you immediately give in to the emotion of the moment and become angry, frustrated, fearful, and furious. Developing the right attitude is learning to walk by faith and not by sight. It is finding your happiness in God instead of the situation in which you find yourself. And most important, it is learning to control your emotions and trust God.
In order to stop complaining you have to stop living by feelings and instead live by faith in God. If you live by feelings you'll be unhappy and do nothing but grumble. On the other hand, if you live by faith in God you will be happy and speak words of faith and kindness. It really is just that simple!
Anytime you see someone who is a winner, you'll always see that they have a great attitude no matter what is going on in their life. They don't sit around complaining about their difficult situation. When a challenge or obstacle comes their way, they just rise up on the inside and look to God for the solution - even if it looks impossible. A great attitude is a secret weapon to see God move miraculously in your life. If you have an attitude of faith in Him and refuse to complain, the possibilities for your life increase because all things are possible when you choose to trust Him over all the chaos swirling around you. Your good attitude keeps you hanging on when everybody else has quit, and that means you will win the race. YOU AND YOU ALONE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ATTITUDE AND YOUR HAPPINESS. Your choices are the only thing over which YOU have control. You cannot control other people or your circumstances, but God has given you full control over your will. You make your decisions, and your decisions frame your attitude - and your future. (taken from a chapter of a book from Dennis Leonard entitled HAPPINESS MATTERS, a great book well worth reading.)
MOST FOLKS ARE ABOUT AS HAPPY AS THEY MAKE THEIR MINDS UP TO BE
(Abraham Lincoln)

Hi Friends: Just a note to let you know that I am still on the planet and am hoping to try and spend more time on 'spaces'. Have had a rough few months involved with various other things - stressful times at work - trying to make a relationship 'work' etc. - and spending much too much time on Facebook and attempting to make my life happier than it has been. I am really very appreciative of those who have stood beside me and sent messages to my guestbook and kept in touch while I have been absent from spaces. Thank you so much.

make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you
A TRUE FRIEND IS SOMEONE WHO REACHES FOR YOUR HAND AND TOUCHES YOUR HEART
Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile
To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world
T HE WORST WAY TO MISS SOMEONE IS TO BE SITTING RIGHT BESIDE THEM KNOWING YOU CAN'T HAVE THEM
. Maybe GOD wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful
DON'T CRY BECAUSE IT'S OVER, SMILE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED
Don't try so hard. The best things come when you least expect them to
TAKE TIME TO LIVE, LIFE IS TOO SHORT
A FRIEND IS SOMEONE WHO BELIEVES IN YOU EVEN WHEN YOU'VE CEASED TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
Have a wonderful day, remember to pray, and do something kind for someone today .........Treasure the Journey,

If you find yourself putting your trust in money, intelligence, beauty, or success, remember that all these things come from God. Think about where your trust really belongs.
Embrace the power of love. Reject the love of power.
Let your difficulties be opportunities for God's control.
God does not promise you a life without difficulties, but He does promise that He will always be with you.
One of the reasons God comforts us is so that we can comfort others.
The love you pray for is trying to reach you at every moment. So pray for the highest love. Then when it reaches you, your blessing will be infinite.
All prayers ask for love, no matter what they seem to be asking for. Healing is love, a deep wish is love, God's attention is love.
Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength; and love your neighbor as yourself. Happiness is loving God, yourself, and His people.
"It matters if we learn how to share our lives with others, making them and their world different, rather than try to hoard life for ourselves. It matters if we learn to recognize the pleasures of every day, food and work and love and friendship, as encounters with the divine, encounters that each day teach us not only that God is real but that we are too. Those things make all the difference." (Rabbi Harold Kushner)
"Human beings have a need to be good....Our human nature is such that we need to be helpful, thoughtful, and generous as much as we need to eat, sleep, and exercise. When we eat too much and exercise too little, we feel out of sorts. Even our personalities are affected. And when we are selfish and deceitful, it has the same affect. We become out of touch with our real selves; we forget about what it feels like to feel good." (Rabbi Harold Kushner)
OUR LIFE IS A GIFT FROM GOD. WHAT WE DO WITH THAT LIFE IS A GIFT TO GOD.
Have a great Sunday.

Happy Sunday to everyone. I was re-reading a small book I have by
Bruce and Stan, called "God is in the small stuff". Below are a few quotes
which were taken from the book.
For those of us who don't get to church regularly or may not think about God
as often as we should, I thought today might be a good day to do just that.
God's plans are always perfect. That said, seek His will.
Don't make plans and then ask for the Lord's approval. Ask God to direct your planning.
If you're going to wait for someone, wait for the Lord.
God may be using people who disagree with you.
The call of God is sometimes difficult to hear.
Once discerned, the call of God is difficult to avoid.
Remember that God's will is not so much a function of time and place as it is an attitude of the heart.
If you want to know God's will, spend more time with Him.
No one can please God without adding a great deal of happiness to his or her own life.
Circumstances may be outside your control, but the way you respond to them is not.
When you feel like settling for less than the best, think about what God wants for you.
You will begin to live when you lose yourself in God's purpose for you.
When God speaks, listen.
When God commands, obey.
When God leads, follow.

Robert

Make up your mind to be happy. Learn to find pleasure in simple things.
Make the best of your circumstances. No one has everything, and everyone has something of sorrow intermingled with gladness of life. The trick is to make the laughter outweigh the tears.
Don't take yourself too seriously. Don't think that somehow you should be protected from misfortune that befalls other people.
You can't please everybody. Don't let criticism worry you.
Don't let your neighbor set your standards. Be yourself.
Do the things you enjoy doing but stay out of debt.
Never borrow trouble. Imaginary things are harder to bear than real ones.
Since hate poisons the soul, do not cherish jealousy. Avoid people who make you unhappy.
Have many interests. If you can't travel, read about new places.
Don't hold postmortems. Don't spend your time brooding over sorrows or mistakes. Don't be one who never gets over things.
Do what you can for those less fortunate than yourself.
Keep busy at something. A busy person never has time to be unhappy.
Have a wonderful day. Make every day a 'random act of kindness' day.

Robert

THE THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT THE FUTURE COMES ONE DAY AT A TIME.
IF YOU WANT TO BE LOVED, BE LOVABLE.
YOU ARE TOTALLY UNIQUE, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
WHETHER YOU THINK YOU CAN OR THINK YOU CAN'T, EITHER WAY YOU ARE RIGHT.
ALL POWER IS FROM WITHIN AND THEREFORE UNDER YOUR CONTROL.
WHAT YOU RESIST PERSISTS.
YOUR JOB IS YOU. UNLESS YOU FILL YOURSELF UP FIRST, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO GIVE ANYBODY.
TREAT YOURSELF WITH LOVE AND RESPECT, AND YOU WILL ATTRACT PEOPLE WHO SHOW YOU LOVE AND RESPECT.
IMAGINATION IS EVERYTHING. IT IS THE PREVIEW OF LIFE'S COMING ATTRACTIONS.
Best wishes to all of my friends for a great week ahead. Be kind to yourself
and everyone else.

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
There are two days in every week that we should not worry about, two days that should be kept free from fear and apprehension. One is yesterday, with it's mistakes and cares, it's faults and blunders, it's aches and pains. Yesterday has passed, forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed. Nor can we erase a single word we've said - yesterday is gone!
The other day we shouldn't worry about is tomorrow with it's impossible adversaries, it's burdens, it's hopeful promise and poor performance. Tomorrow is beyond our control. Tomorrow's sun will rise either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds - but it will rise. And until it does we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.
This leaves only one day - today. Any person can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when we add the burdens of yesterday and tomorrow that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad - it is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday, and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us, therefore, live one day at a time!
Thank you Beth for allowing me to pass these wonderful words of wisdom onto others.
Although I have posted this one before, it is always a good reminder.

Robert
